Lee Bailey, Tennis Director

 

Lee BaileyLee Bailey is the new Director of Tennis at Kilmarlic Health & Racquet Club.

 

Lee is a certified USPTA-P1 professional. Originally from Greenville, North Carolina, Lee was a top 5 ranked junior in North Carolina. He played for one year at Mount Olive College where he played #1 singles and doubles. He was named 2nd team all-conference. Lee transferred to UNCW his sophomore year and played three years with the Seahawks. He played #2-4 singles and #1-3 doubles. Senior year he was named team MVP. Lee majored in Exercise Science with a minor in Public Health. Lee was awarded the 2007 USPTA Men's Southern Player of the year. He was ranked #8 in the nation in the USPTA Men's Open Division, 2-time state hard court 5.0 champion, quarter-finalist of USPTA International Championships and the NC Crown State Championships and currently is rated 5.5 by the USTA.


Lee comes to us from Walnut Creek Country Club in Goldsboro, NC where in five years he built a large and successful tennis program from zero participation. Lee helped coach a USTA 3.0 Senior Ladies team to win the State, Southern, and National Championships and coached his 5.5 Ladies Combo team to win the State and Southern Sectional Championship. He built a strong junior program with juniors playing in NC, Southern, and National tournaments. His USTA Junior Intermediate team finished 3rd in the North Carolina State Championships. Lee' s enthusiasm, tennis club experience, and tennis skills make him an ideal fit for our club and community. Lee officially started at Kilmarlic Health & Racquet Club on April 12th, 2010.
